U.S.: RUSSIA SHARED INTELLIGENCE WITH IRAN ABOUT AMERICAN TROOPS

U.S. officials believe that Russia has been providing intelligence to Iran about the locations of American military assets in the region. The information reportedly includes the positions of U.S. aircraft, warships, and other military forces.

According to two people familiar with U.S. intelligence assessments, Moscow has shared targeting information that could help Iran track American troops and equipment in the Middle East.

A U.S. intelligence official also confirmed that Washington believes Russia has been supplying Iran with such information since the conflict escalated in recent days.

Officials said the intelligence shared by Russia included the locations of U.S. military platforms such as warships and aircraft operating in the region, which could potentially help Iran plan strikes against American forces.

The reported intelligence sharing marks the first indication that another major global rival of the United States may be indirectly involved in the ongoing conflict.

However, U.S. officials said there is currently no evidence that Russia is directly instructing Iran on how to use the information or coordinating specific attacks.

The reports come amid escalating tensions in the Middle East following military strikes involving the United States, Iran, and Israel, raising concerns that the conflict could widen further.
