Savannah Guthrie breaks silence after chilling footage linked to her mother’s kidnapping is released

Savannah Guthrie is pleading for the public’s help after the release of chilling surveillance footage linked to the alleged kidnapping of her mother, Nancy Guthrie.

The Today show anchor shared the video on Instagram Tuesday, showing an armed, masked individual approaching the 84-year-old’s home in Tucson, Arizona. The black-and-white footage was originally released by FBI Director Kash Patel.
“Someone out there recognizes this person,” the 54-year-old journalist wrote in the caption. “We believe she is still out there. Bring her home.”
In a separate post, the Daytime Emmy winner added, “We believe she is still alive,” underscoring the family’s continued hope as the investigation unfolds.
She concluded both messages by urging anyone with information to come forward, writing, “Anyone with information, please contact 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at 520-351-4900.”
Savannah later shared both posts to her Instagram Story to further amplify the plea.
Patel, 45, confirmed on X that “law enforcement … uncovered these previously inaccessible new images” earlier Tuesday morning, noting that the footage could prove critical in advancing the investigation.
As the search continues, messages of support have poured in from viewers and colleagues, with many rallying behind Guthrie and her family during what has become an increasingly distressing and uncertain time.
