Kid Rock mocked as fans all make same complaint during All-American halftime show

A Rival Halftime Show
This Super Bowl Sunday, viewers didn’t just get the NFL’s official halftime performance — they got an alternative one too.
While the league’s main halftime stage featured global star Bad Bunny, millions of Americans tuned into Turning Point USA’s competing livestream event, billed as the “All-American Halftime Show.”
The conservative-backed broadcast included performances from Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett, before closing with Kid Rock, 55.
The event was promoted as a cultural alternative to the NFL’s spectacle — but Kid Rock’s appearance quickly sparked controversy.
Lip-Sync Accusations Flood Social Media
Within moments of Kid Rock taking the stage, viewers began accusing him of lip-syncing.
“Nice lip syncing,” one person wrote.
“Did Kid Rock just badly lip sync through his song? Or was my stream messed up?” another asked.
Others were even harsher, claiming his performance felt short and awkward.
“It was a minute of lip sync and then he dipped,” one viewer commented.
Another mocked the moment, saying Kid Rock appeared for less than a minute, danced briefly, and then disappeared.
Backlash Over Resurfaced Lyrics
The criticism didn’t stop with the performance itself.
Ahead of the show, old lyrics from Kid Rock’s 2001 track “Cool, Daddy Cool” began circulating online again, including a controversial line referencing underage girls.
Clips from a 2001 Saturday Night Live appearance also resurfaced, where he made comments about Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who were only 14 at the time.
The renewed attention sparked further outrage online.
“SO gross!” one user wrote.
“He is a disgusting human being,” another added.
Supporters Defend the Performance
Despite the backlash, Kid Rock still had fans cheering him on.
“Kid Rock busted out ‘Bawitdaba.’ Totally awesome!” one supporter posted.
Another wrote that the Turning Point USA halftime show was “worth it” and praised the organization’s founder, Charlie Kirk.
Massive Viewership Numbers
Turning Point USA’s livestream reportedly peaked at around 5 million viewers before dipping slightly during Kid Rock’s set.
As of this writing, the YouTube stream has already surpassed 18 million views.
