Chumlee Admits to Testing Positive Following Home Raid
Austin Lee Russell, better known as Chumlee from the reality show Pawn Stars, has admitted that he tested positive for controlled substances following a March raid at his Las Vegas home. The raid resulted in the seizure of drugs and firearms, prompting a federal investigation.
Russell, 33, is considering a plea deal that would allow him to plead guilty to attempted possession of a controlled substance. As part of the agreement, he would surrender all seized items.
He would also serve three years of probation and participate in a treatment program for substance abuse, fulfilling the court’s requirements.
However, a felony weapons charge would remain on his record. If he completes probation without any violations, the charge could potentially be dismissed.
Failure to meet probation conditions could result in a prison sentence of up to five years, according to Nevada state law.
Chumlee has publicly stated that the positive test was a “mistake” and emphasized his commitment to completing treatment and adhering to all legal obligations.
The case has drawn significant media attention and sparked discussion among fans of Pawn Stars, highlighting issues of substance use and accountability for public figures.
