BREAKING UPDATE: Abandoned Vehicle Discovery Shakes Manhunt for Julian Ingram in Lake Cargelligo Triple Murder Case

NSW Police have located an abandoned white Ford Ranger utility vehicle believed to be connected to fugitive Julian Ingram, the prime suspect in the January 22, 2026 triple murder in Lake Cargelligo.

The vehicle was discovered in a rural area outside the town, after local residents alerted authorities to a ute partially concealed in scrubland. Police quickly secured the scene as forensic teams began examining the vehicle for potential evidence.

Investigators have not publicly confirmed what, if anything, was found inside the ute, but the discovery is being treated as a significant development in the ongoing manhunt. Authorities believe the vehicle may help narrow search efforts and provide further insight into the suspect’s movements after the attack.

The case has gripped New South Wales since the deadly shootings on Bokhara Street, where three people were killed, including Sophie Quinn, who was heavily pregnant, along with her partner John Harris and her aunt Nerida Quinn. A fourth victim survived and has assisted police with their investigation.

Strike Force Doberta, the task force established following the killings, has intensified operations in the region. Specialist units, including PolAir, tactical officers, and search teams, are continuing to comb surrounding bushland and remote properties.

Assistant Commissioner Andrew Holland urged the public to remain vigilant, warning that Ingram is considered armed and extremely dangerous. “Do not approach,” police said. “Anyone who sees him should call triple-0 immediately.”

The discovery has also renewed scrutiny of domestic violence protections and bail decisions, with reports indicating Ingram had previously faced allegations of violent behavior before the attack. A critical incident review is now examining whether earlier intervention could have prevented the tragedy.

For the families of the victims, the abandoned vehicle offers a small but important sign of progress. However, police stress that the search remains active, and the community will not have closure until the suspect is located.

The investigation continues.
