After spending six critical months in the hospital stabilizing their condition, Bella and Abby underwent separation surgery on May 12, 2006. The 12-hour operation involved 17 skilled surgeons working tirelessly to give them a chance at individual lives. Thankfully, the surgery succeeded, and shortly after, the family was able to return home together.
Fast-forward years later, and the twins are thriving. Now in excellent health, they channel their boundless energy into gymnastics and embody the spirited bickering and deep love typical of sisterhood. Astonishingly, they’ve even discovered they can communicate silently—sharing thoughts without speaking—deepening an already extraordinary bond.
