PLA is one of the most commonly used 3D printer filament because it is easy to use and is a friendly, nontoxic, bio-degradable material derived from renewable resources such as field corn. PLA is especially ideal for printing objects with flat surfaces, hard angles and ones requiring tight tolerances for fit. PLA is relatively brittle, so it is not recommended for thin, high strength applications. PLA filaments should be stored in a cool dry place since PLA tends to absorbs moisture from the atmosphere which can compromise quality and performance. Having full control over storage conditions, product packaging as well as maintaining a FIFO (First In First Out) storage system is crucial in maintaining optimal freshness of our 3D printing consumables. Our filaments are free from lead and other potentially hazardous substances including cadmium, mercury and chromium VI, among others. From the very beginning, we've always guaranteed in writing that our filaments are made from pure grade virgin resin, giving you consistent high quality prints, beautiful look and feel. Controlled using Non-Contact Laser Diameter Gauge: Rapid, precise and repeatable measurements to exact dimensional tolerances. Such gauges allow us to maintain consistent high quality filament. So regardless of the 3D printer you are using, the consistently round diameters provide optimum flow through the extruder nozzle. Continuous Line Production: Filament is extruded and spooled onto the reel in one continuous motion, producing tangle free spools that will unwind freely and smoothly from the start of the roll to the end. Moisture Protected Packaging: Some 3D printing materials can be negatively affected by moisture, that's why every product made by us is packed inside an air tight package along with a moisture absorbing desiccant pack. Produced According to a Standardized Color System: Every colored filament we manufacture is formulated according to a standard color system such as the Pantone Color Matching System. This is important in order to ensure consistent color shade with every batch as well as allowing us to produce specialty colors such as metallic and custom colors. PrintingTemperature: Notes: 225°C We recommend printing Silk PLA at higher temperatures and slightly slower speed than regular PLA for a more shiny finish and improved layer adhesion. EconoFil PLA should be printed with a heated print bed set to 55°C - 60°C A good quality glue stick should be used for proper bed adhesion on most bed surfaces. If warping or stringing occurs, please lower your printing temperature. If excessive stringing occurs, the materials may need to be dried in a dehydrator. First layer nozzle temperature usually 5°C-10°C higher than subsequent layers. If the color of the filament strand on the spool is not glossy, do not be alarmed, this is normal and is due to the production process; the printed objects will still have the expected high gloss silk shine to them when printed.
