Mohs Surgery Confirmed
President Joe Biden, 82, was recently seen wearing a noticeable head bandage. His spokesperson confirmed that he underwent Mohs surgery—a precise procedure used to remove skin cancer by excising thin layers of tissue until only healthy skin remains.
Public Sighting Spurs Concern
The surgical scar became visible in footage captured during a church appearance in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Initial concern followed when images showed a large bandage across his head.
Ongoing Health Journey
This latest surgery comes in the wake of other recent health news: in 2023, Biden had a basal cell carcinoma removed from his chest, and earlier this year, he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones. His team has indicated that this cancer is hormone-sensitive and currently manageable.
