Just 40 minutes after takeoff from Corfu, Greece, a Condor Boeing 757 burst into chaos. Flames were seen erupting from the engine at 36,000 feet. Passengers thought it was over.“I messaged my family to say goodbye,” one passenger told BILD.
The flight, en route to Düsseldorf, was forced to make an emergency landing in Brindisi, Italy. Loud bangs. Shaking. Panic. Onlookers captured terrifying videos from the ground.Though Condor insists the engine never fully caught fire, the terror on board was very real. Some passengers spent the night stranded at the airport with only blankets and vouchers.
The aircraft is now under full technical inspection.
Would you fly again after seeing fire out your window mid-flight?
