5 mins ago – ARRESTED! Sh0:cking Identity of Nancy Guthrie Ransom ‘Hoaxer’ Exposed as FBI Swoops on Trusted Insider — Now We Know Why She Hasn’t Been Found for 5 Days!

Imposters attempting to profit from the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie will be prosecuted, the FBI warned this week, as investigators confirmed at least one arrest tied to a fake ransom demand. Authorities say the case has attracted individuals trying to exploit the family’s fear and the public attention surrounding the investigation.

Law enforcement officials revealed that multiple media organizations had received purported ransom notes, which were immediately turned over to investigators. While the sheriff’s department has taken every tip seriously, officials have remained cautious about releasing details that could compromise the ongoing search.

During a news conference, the FBI stressed that so-called “imposters” are inserting themselves into the case in an effort to extort money or stir chaos. One individual has now been arrested after allegedly sending fraudulent ransom communications connected to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.

The suspect was identified in a criminal complaint as 42-year-old Derrick Callella of California. Authorities say Callella is accused of transmitting a ransom demand in interstate commerce and using telecommunications tools to harass or threaten members of the Guthrie family.

According to investigators, Nancy Guthrie’s loved ones received text messages asking for confirmation of a Bitcoin payment shortly after the family released an emotional public plea. One message reportedly stated, “Did you get the bitcoin… we’re waiting on our end for the transaction.”

Officials traced the messages back to Callella through digital evidence, linking them to an email account and ultimately to his home. Authorities say Callella later admitted to sending the texts using a VOIP account after following news coverage of the case.

Investigators emphasized that these texts were not connected to any legitimate ransom demand and were instead viewed as an opportunistic attempt to provoke a response. The FBI made clear that such actions will be aggressively pursued, warning others against exploiting the family’s suffering.

Meanwhile, the search for Nancy Guthrie remains active. The FBI has announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to her safe return or the arrest of those responsible. Authorities believe the 84-year-old was taken from her Tucson home against her will.

Savannah Guthrie, the “Today Show” anchor and Nancy’s daughter, has issued repeated emotional pleas for her mother’s return. Family members have stressed that Nancy requires medication for ongoing health issues, increasing the urgency of the investigation.

Nancy’s son, Camron Guthrie, released a video appeal urging anyone holding his mother to make contact and prove she is alive. “We need a way to communicate,” he said, adding that the family is desperate for answers and safe resolution.

Authorities continue to investigate signs of forced entry, forensic evidence, and reports of ransom notes, but they have not publicly identified a suspect in Nancy’s disappearance. Officials also urged the public to stop spreading unverified accusations online, warning that misinformation does not help bring Nancy home.
